Overview
Content Migration & Transformation Kit
A structured, end-to-end toolkit for RBA engineers and strategists executing CMS-to-CMS platform migrations. Covers the full migration arc from discovery audit through go-live SEO validation, with swappable adapters for Sitecore, Umbraco, Optimizely, and any headless CMS target.
What's inside
| Artifact | Purpose |
|---|---|
content-audit skill |
Inventory content types, field schemas, taxonomy, media, and relationships in the source CMS; classify each item as migrate/rewrite/retire |
field-mapping skill |
Produce a source→target field-mapping document with transformation notes, data-type mismatches, and adapter-specific gotchas |
markup-scrubber skill |
Strip proprietary markup (Word paste artifacts, legacy shortcodes, inline styles, vendor-specific attributes) and emit clean, portable HTML/rich-text |
redirect-map skill |
Build a complete old-URL→new-URL 301 redirect map with chain-detection and SEO impact scoring |
seo-preservation-checklist skill |
Validate that titles, meta descriptions, canonical tags, structured data, hreflang, and XML sitemaps survive the cutover |
migration-reviewer agent |
Orchestration subagent that runs all five skills in dependency order and produces a consolidated migration readiness report |
/migrate command |
Entry-point slash command for starting a new migration engagement |
When to use this plugin
Install this plugin at the start of any platform transition engagement:
- Sitecore XP/XM → XM Cloud or headless re-platform
- Sitecore → Umbraco cost-optimisation migration
- Sitecore or Umbraco → Optimizely DXP expansion
- Legacy WordPress / custom CMS → any supported target
- Any scenario where content structures, URLs, or rich-text markup must transform as part of a re-platform
It is platform-agnostic by design. Each skill includes adapter notes for RBA's core platforms (Sitecore XM Cloud, Umbraco 14+, Optimizely CMS 12+) and a generic adapter path for other targets.
How to install
claude plugin install content-migration-kit@rba-ai-hub
After installation, start a new migration engagement with:
/migrate
Or invoke individual skills directly:
/content-audit <source-platform> <environment-url>
/field-mapping <source-schema-file> <target-schema-file>
/markup-scrubber <content-export-path>
/redirect-map <sitemap-or-crawl-export>
/seo-preservation-checklist

Bundled artifacts
Skills
- content-audit — Inventories a source CMS's content types, field schemas, taxonomy, media library, and content relationships, then classifies every item as migrate/rewrite/retire. Use at the start of a migration engagement before any field mapping or technical scoping begins.
- markup-scrubber — Strips proprietary markup from exported CMS rich-text content — Word paste artifacts, legacy shortcodes, vendor attributes, inline styles, and platform-specific HTML — and emits clean, portable HTML or plain-text suitable for import into any target CMS. Use before field mapping ETL on any rich-text field.
- redirect-map — Builds a complete old-URL→new-URL 301 redirect map from a sitemap, crawl export, or content inventory; detects redirect chains, classifies SEO impact, and outputs a deployment-ready redirect ruleset. Use before go-live to prevent organic traffic loss.
- seo-preservation-checklist — Validates that all SEO equity — meta titles, descriptions, canonical tags, structured data, hreflang, XML sitemaps, and robots.txt — survives a CMS cutover; produces a scored readiness report with pass/fail for each checkpoint. Use in the final validation sprint before go-live.
- field-mapping — Produces a source→target CMS field-mapping specification with transformation rules, data-type mismatch notes, and adapter-specific gotchas; use after content-audit to drive the ETL implementation.
Agents
- migration-reviewer — Orchestration subagent that runs all content-migration-kit skills in dependency order (content-audit → field-mapping → markup-scrubber → redirect-map → seo-preservation-checklist) and produces a consolidated Migration Readiness Report. Use when kicking off a new migration engagement end-to-end.
Slash Commands
- /migrate — Entry-point command for a content migration engagement. Prompts for source/target platform and export files, then launches the migration-reviewer agent to run the full audit pipeline.
