Install

Pick the surface you use. Plugins run inside Claude Code, which is available in the terminal CLI, the desktop app on Mac and Windows, the web app at claude.ai/code, and the VS Code and JetBrains extensions. The slash commands are identical on every surface.

From inside any Claude Code session — terminal, desktop app, web app, or IDE extension:

  1. Add the RBA Skills marketplace (only needed once per machine):

    /plugin marketplace add rbaconsulting/rba-skills-plugin
  2. Install accessibility-auditor:

    /plugin install accessibility-auditor@rba-ai-hub
  3. Activate it without restarting:

    /reload-plugins

Overview

Accessibility Auditor (WCAG 2.2 AA)

A complete accessibility audit and compliance toolkit for RBA digital experience projects. Combines automated scanning (axe-core / Playwright) with AI-judged criteria that automated tools cannot catch — alt text quality, reading order logic, ARIA pattern correctness, and focus management flow — then maps every finding to WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria with severity ratings and concrete remediation steps.

Designed for the full RBA stack: Sitecore XM Cloud, Optimizely CMS, Umbraco, and any headless or composable DXP front-end. Covers ADA (Section 508), the European Accessibility Act (EAA / EN 301 549), and VPAT/ACR drafting for enterprise procurement requirements.

What's in the bundle

Artifact Purpose
accessibility-wcag-scan skill Full-page WCAG 2.2 AA scan: automated checks + AI-judged criteria, severity-ranked issue list
accessibility-aria-review skill Deep ARIA pattern review: landmark structure, widget roles, live regions, keyboard interaction model
accessibility-vpat-acr skill Draft a VPAT 2.5 (WCAG edition) Accessibility Conformance Report from audit findings
accessibility-remediation-plan skill Convert raw findings into a prioritised sprint-ready remediation backlog with code-level fixes
accessibility-compliance-monitor skill Recurring compliance health-check: regression tracking across sprints, EAA/ADA status dashboard
accessibility-reviewer agent Subagent that reviews pull requests for accessibility regressions before merge
/a11y-audit command One-shot entry point: run the full audit workflow on a URL or component path

When to use this plugin

  • Project QA gates — run before every major release to catch regressions and gate on a severity threshold.
  • Client accessibility audits — produce a formal report (ACR/VPAT) for procurement, legal, or enterprise client requirements.
  • EAA / ADA compliance programmes — establish a baseline, track improvement over successive sprints, maintain an audit trail.
  • Design-system reviews — audit component libraries for ARIA pattern correctness and keyboard operability before scaling across sites.
  • Managed services — schedule recurring health-checks on live properties and surface regressions before clients notice them.

Platform adapters

The skills are platform-agnostic by default and include notes for:

  • Sitecore XM Cloud / SXA — Experience Editor focus trapping, Sitecore Forms field labelling, JSS component alt-text patterns.
  • Optimizely CMS — Edit mode ARIA contamination guards, block editor reading order, Forms accessibility.
  • Umbraco — Grid/Block List component ARIA, Members area login flow (SC 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication).
  • Headless / composable — Next.js, Astro, React — framework-specific focus management and SSR hydration patterns.

How to install

claude plugin install accessibility-auditor@rba-ai-hub

After install, all five skills appear in /skills/browse/ and the /a11y-audit command is available in any project.

Regulatory coverage

Regulation Standard Scope
ADA (USA) WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 AA Public-facing websites, web apps, mobile
Section 508 (USA federal) WCAG 2.0 AA + VPAT 2.5 508 edition Federal procurement
European Accessibility Act (EAA) EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 AA EU market — enforcement active from June 2025
AODA (Ontario, Canada) WCAG 2.0 AA Ontario public sector and large private orgs

WCAG 2.2 AA compliance satisfies all of the above at the highest documented bar.

Bundled artifacts

Skills

  • accessibility-aria-review — Deep ARIA pattern review for components and pages: landmark structure, widget role correctness, live-region design, keyboard interaction model, focus management for modals/drawers/tabs, and state attribute hygiene (aria-expanded, aria-selected, aria-controls). Maps issues to WCAG SC 1.3.1, 2.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.1.3 with concrete markup fixes. Adapts to React, Astro, Next.js, and CMS-rendered output (Sitecore, Optimizely, Umbraco).
  • accessibility-compliance-monitor — Recurring WCAG 2.2 AA compliance health-check for live DX properties: compares the current axe-core scan against a saved baseline, surfaces regressions introduced since last audit, tracks sprint-over-sprint improvement, and produces a compliance status dashboard covering ADA, EAA (European Accessibility Act), and Section 508. Designed for managed-services engagements and long-running client programmes.
  • accessibility-remediation-plan — Convert raw WCAG 2.2 AA audit findings into a prioritised, sprint-ready remediation backlog. Groups issues by severity and component, estimates effort, assigns platform owner (design/engineering/content/CMS config), and produces Jira-ready user stories or Azure DevOps work items with acceptance criteria tied to the relevant WCAG SC. Includes a quick-win list for immediate before-sprint fixes and a governance action for content-model / authoring-UX gaps.
  • accessibility-vpat-acr — Draft a VPAT 2.5 Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) from audit findings. Produces a publication-ready document in VPAT 2.5 WCAG Edition format covering all applicable WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria, with conformance ratings (Supports / Partially Supports / Does Not Support / Not Applicable) and remarks. Suitable for enterprise procurement, Section 508, and European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549) submissions. Adapts output for WCAG, EU (EN 301 549), and INT editions.
  • accessibility-wcag-scan — Full-page WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility scan combining automated axe-core/Playwright checks with AI-judged criteria (alt-text quality, reading order logic, focus sequence, form instruction clarity). Produces a severity-ranked finding list mapped to specific WCAG 2.2 success criteria with pass/fail/partial conformance ratings and immediate remediation pointers. Adapts output for Sitecore XM Cloud, Optimizely CMS, Umbraco, and headless front-ends.

Agents

  • accessibility-reviewer — Pull-request accessibility reviewer. Reads changed files in a PR, identifies WCAG 2.2 AA violations introduced by the diff (HTML structure, ARIA attributes, CSS focus styles, alt text, interactive semantics), and posts inline review comments with SC references and remediation code. Runs before merge as a lightweight regression guard — complements, does not replace, the full accessibility-wcag-scan skill.

Slash Commands

  • /a11y-audit — One-shot entry point for the full accessibility audit workflow. Runs the WCAG 2.2 AA scan on the specified URL or component path, then guides through remediation planning and (optionally) VPAT/ACR drafting. Orchestrates the accessibility-wcag-scan, accessibility-remediation-plan, and accessibility-vpat-acr skills in sequence.
